Lee Stocking is the site of an eerily abandoned Perry Institute Research station – research into Caribbean fish stocks etc I think. Walking around the abandoned buildings is weird – it is like they all decided to just leave one day. The buildings stand open but have furniture, appliances, curtains, communications infrastructure, vehicles, equipment and odds and ends of occupation left as though someone might be coming back tomorrow to take up where they left off. Substance for a good book!!

As always, a pleasant walk is rewarded by a stunning, deserted beach.
