On the way up to Virgin Gorda we passed Dead Chest island where Blackbeard marooned his 15 mutineers with only a bottle of rum between them. Remember?

We wandered around various anchorages in the sound – Prickly Island, Leverick Bay, Vixen Point and near Saba Rock, taking in walks where available.

There are lots of classic, tall and expensive yachts around for the races later this month. One sequence of a beauty entering the narrow gap through the reef, late in the day and in squally conditions stood out.
